How does Hydro Printing work?
The part is prepped by sanding, cleaning, and applying a bonder/primer.
A base coat of paint is then applied to correspond with the pattern being used. The use of different color base coats will change the final look of the pattern being applied. Here at Southern Oregon Hydro Printing, you are able to choose the color of your base coat based on your desired end product (specialty color may have an additional cost).
The pattern of choice is printied on to a film that is placed in our special hydro printing tank. As he film floats on top of the water, an activator solution is sprayed on to the film causing it to become liquid like.
The part can now be dipped into the pattern that is floating on the surface. As the part is dipped the water is displaced and causes the pattern to wrap around and adhere to the part. Because of this displacement, any parts, no matter what shape, can be hydro printed.
After the part has dried, a top coat is applied. The customer can choose from gloss, high gloss, or a flat finish.
The possibilities are endless! Almost any item can be dipped with thousands of patterns. Contact us today for a quote or any questions you may have!
